Dominion Conquest is no more
For the past year, I kept working on this project on my spare time. Things were going slow and i wasn’t really happy with the mechanics. Only the squad administration was working and i had no idea on how it would have worked on the map.
This led me to rethink the project.
Things moved on
I always used this part of my website as a laboratory and experimentation for my technology watch.
Going further in VueJS and learning to use AI as dev tool, I decided to switch to a project i first made by hand with friends.
Say hello to the newborn !
This led to the creation of IX Dominion !
Things moved from a SF tactical environment to High fantasy strategy game.
Greatly inspired by The 9th Age, IX Dominion will allow you to join a race and make it prosper and expand in a hextile map.
What has already been done ?
Thinks move fast !
I already have made the map generation.
An advanced user (a role accessible in the future by subscription) can create maps, edit and save them online.
A user can ask to join maps using a unique ID generated for each map.
Any user linked to a map can see them listed with the UID shown.
Maps will be your own
As said previously, maps will be generated according to the settings you give them.
But after that, it will allow you to modify them and personalize as you want, 6 different tiles exists from mountains to water, you’ll be able to create the landscapes you want.
The size can also be changed for small game to great campaigns.
Once the map is finished, you can already set it as validated. It will allow users who have the UID to see and ask for joining the game that will take place here.
But what's next ?
I don’t Know how long this will take to create a real game and not just features but for now on the map creation is set as over.
I will now take care of the next step : faction selection, stats, initial city and frontier expansion.
Way more confident about this creation, i will do my best to end up with something i’m proud of and proud to show.
