Some new features are online !

For the past month things moved on, new features appeared and we are still going further.

What are the new mechanics ?

  • First as you can see it is now possible to claim territory !
  • Players list is shown
  • But there’s more that you can’t see, multiple sounds have been added so that you have more feedback.
  • Buttons have been added to check for ending turn.
  • We now have the faction selection and initial placement.
  • A chatbox is available.

We will develop all that in this article. Let’s explain it in the right order !

Faction selection and initial placement

Once the map is set to Locked, the players can join in and request the owner to become players of the loaded map. Once set as players, they can pick a faction, a color and select the beginning spot.

A color becomes unavailable once picked by a player.

For now factions doesn’t change anything but we will add features for each faction later.

The owner also called Game Master (GM) can start the game once every player has selected his spot.

Players listing

Allowing you to see players linked to a Map, it also shows who is the GM and who is connected or not.

The expansion

Once a game is started, player has now 10 points called “actions” (A) and an economy called “resources”(R).

Claiming a tile costs one action.

Each tile owned gives 10 R. and for each city built, the player get 50 R. 

You can now buy an army for 500 R.

An army can move (costing 1 A). each tile in contact with an army is automatically claimed.

Ending a turn

Once a player decide he has finished his turn, he can now click on the button on the top bar. it will switch to a waiting stance, waiting for other players to validate their ending.

Once all players have validated, the turn passes.
Actions left and not used are transformed in Resources.
Actions are reloaded and Resources are generated.

Lastly if a player hasn’t connected after 20h the GM can force the end of a turn.

Last button added in this section : the refresh button. It allows a player to force a reload of the map without waiting the usual auto-reload of 30sec.

The chatbox !

It wouldn’t be a good multiplayer game if it had no chatbox available. Chatting with others is part of the game, being able to share while you wait for the turn to refresh. Talk about alliance and everything else you want to !

What you don't see !

What is that thing you can’t see ?

The sound ! I added sounds !

Right now we have sounds when on map creation, just a little tick when changing the tiles.
We do also have one when a user request to join as player on a map, both for the user and the GM. And one for the user once he is approved.
The sound for choosing the initial placement. Which will be the sound for any building creation.
One for the tile captures.

And one for the beginning of a turn informing a user he has now back his Actions.
